“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” – John 4:23 (ESV)
Devotional:
At JCC Parklands, worship is at the heart of who we are and what we do. We believe that worship is more than just singing songs; it’s a lifestyle of reverence, adoration, and surrender to our Heavenly Father. In John 4:23, Jesus speaks of the importance of worshiping the Father in spirit and truth, highlighting the depth and authenticity of our worship.
Worship at JCC Parklands is a sacred and transformative experience where we come before God with open hearts and humble spirits. It’s a time where we set aside distractions and worries, and focus our attention solely on the One who is worthy of all praise and honor. Whether through music, prayer, scripture reading, or communion, every aspect of our worship is an opportunity to encounter the presence of God in a tangible way.
Central to our understanding of worship is the recognition that it’s not about us; it’s about God. It’s about magnifying His greatness, declaring His goodness, and exalting His name above all else. As we lift our voices in praise and lift our hands in surrender, we invite the Holy Spirit to move in our midst, transforming our hearts and drawing us closer to the heart of God.
But worship at JCC Parklands doesn’t end when the music stops; it’s a lifestyle that extends far beyond the walls of our church. It’s about living each day with a heart of gratitude and reverence for God, acknowledging His sovereignty and faithfulness in every circumstance. It’s about offering our lives as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, as an act of worship (Romans 12:1).
As we gather together in worship at JCC Parklands, let’s remember the words of Psalm 95:6: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” May our worship be characterized by sincerity, passion, and authenticity, as we seek to honor and glorify God with all that we are and all that we have.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of worshiping You at JCC Parklands. Help us to worship You in spirit and truth, with hearts that are fully surrendered to Your will. May our worship be a pleasing aroma to You, a sweet offering of praise and adoration. Stir our hearts to worship You not only with our lips but with our lives, as we seek to honor and glorify You in all that we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
